We have members of all standard of play from beginners to county standard.

Over the years we have been successful in many competitions (League and Friendly) and commended by many other clubs for the high standard of the green and the friendliness of our members.  We are also noted for our afternoon teas!

Throughout the summer playing season we have roll-up sessions in the afternoons. Matches with other clubs include competitions, county, ladies and friendlies. Touring clubs are always welcomed.

Wednesday evening throughout the summer is club night from 6pm for competitions and roll ups. Some members can also be found in our licensed bar!

Coaching is available free of charge from our qualified coaches.

We have social lunches, evening entertainment, raffles, charity fundraising and the occasional BBQ if the weather allows.

If you fancy giving bowling a try then just turn up on a club night or during the roll up sessions, you just need some flat soled shoes.

We’d love to see you. We are always on the lookout for new members both young and old.

Take up bowls.
With people now looking for alternative sports that allow them to maintain social distance and play outside, the non-contact activities of bowls is firmly back on the agenda. Before lockdown, an increasing number of young people had been taking up lawn bowls - once the domain of elderly men and women dressed in white. Now Bowls England says the coming weeks and months are "an opportunity" for those "who currently don't play, to give bowls a try".

Season Update

Outdoor season now completed with great success, honours as follows:-

Wessex Fours Cup Winners.

Wessex League Fours runners Up.

Wessex League Triples runners up.

We’ve hosted the Ladies Johns’ competition match between Wiltshire and Devon and the men’s county match between Somerset and Cornwall.
We are now into the activities that take centre stage once the Green is closed, indoor Short Mat bowls and a variety of social events, including monthly lunches for members.
And if that isn’t enough we are about to start a complete rebuild of our toilets and storage facilities.
